Please be advised that Ministry of Education has sent out a circular on the 8th April 2008 informing that there has been updates on the SDR version from 10.4 to 10.5.

The updates as follows:

1.Manual, Page 58, FOREIGN FEE, Validation Logic replaced with the following:

Applies To: All ‘on-shore’ foreign fee paying students with student type B, C or D determined by (ATTEND = 1 or 2) and (FUNDING = 02 or (FUNDING = 01 and ASSIST = 06))

2.Manual, Page 62, PERM_POST_CODE Validation Logic corrected to only include Type D students in Error Validations 556, 558 as per the student file specification on page 30.

Manual, Page 63, TERM_POST_CODE,

Validation Logic corrected to only include Type D students in Error Validations 559, 561 as per the student file specification on page 30.

3.Manual, Pg 64 – Field Name – Qual Field Number 2.3, 3.4, 4.4

Removed ‘(Refer to TEC’s Tertiary Funding Guide)’ 1st Paragraph

Removed ‘(Refer to the secure part of the STEO website: http://www.steo.govt.nz for more details).’

4.Appendices, Page 49, Appendix 15

New table of Valid Post Codes

5.Appendices, Page 55, Appendix 16, Glossary

Renumbered from Appendix 15 to Appendix 16.

SMSS is currently in the midst of analyzing these changes and the impact for the coming SDR submission. As part of the updates mentioned above, POSTCODE changes will not be addressed by SMSS at this point of time as the changes will be addressed in Artena 2008. Sites will be required to manually change invalid postcodes.

As for the others, we are waiting for MOE to come back to us on further updates.
